The Impossible Compromise
My head and My heart
engaged as one, I wait for this day
that not yet has emerged to see the rise of the shimmering sun
Logically, reasonably, scientifically, of good sense
what cannot be proven cannot exist.
I know what is seen; have faith, if that is what you wish
Sensations, and inklings and say a prayer on a whim
what stirs inside my being,
is enough to hold me here captive.
Enduring.
Waging an endless war.
My heart and My head
they do not understand civility, reason or order
science and logic united together
with love and frivolity, impulse
Divorced, and with children
who thrive within the constant presence of belligerency.
Will this day ever come?
when the logical mind and the loving soul can meet together.
The Ideal ratio, kept hidden from ruthless prying eyes.
The Garden of Eden in today and tomorrow, in perfect
working harmony
If only the two could sing similar songs
Blissful perfection, to add to their names
Mrs. and Mr. to the end of their days.
The world is so much more worthwhile when you can hear your heart.
Wonderful piece.
It inspired me to write this short poem. [link]
